About Brake Shoess

Nissan brake shoes are a part of the drum braking system. The wheel bolts to the drum, inside the drum there are two metal shoes lined with heat resistant material, when the brakes are applied the lining is pushed, hydraulically, against the smooth inside edge of the drum, consequently slowing the rotation of the wheels.

Some car makes and models have disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels. More commonly on modern vehicles disc brakes are fitted on all four wheels. On some rear disc brakes the disc has a small brake drum incorporated in the centre of the rear discs for the operation of the handbrake system.

The lining in time, wears away and the rivets that connect the lining to the brake shoe can become exposed and are in danger of making contact with the smooth inside of the drum. If this is allowed to happen damage will be caused to the inside drum surface. Nissan brake shoes is the ideal replacement part, designed specifically for the make and model of your vehicle.

  • Most people think of the Skyline when they think of the Nissan, but the car featured in the Fast and the Furious franchise wasn't actually designed or built by Nissan. • Nissan built the very first limo and made it specifically for the Emperor of Japan. The car was powered by a growling V8 engine and was just over six metres long.
  • Talk about a long drive, in 1964, the Nissan Cedric drove all the way from Greece to Japan as part of the Tokyo Olympics!
  • Nissan and the French manufacturer Renault have had a long and successful partnership, sharing technologies and manufacturing resources.
