About Window Electric Systems

The window electric system driver side is the system that enables the driver to control the electric motors that open and close the all the electric windows that are fitted to the vehicle. This maybe just the front side windows or all four side windows.

This operation is controlled by a series of two way switches which are commonly set in the door panel or on the central console. Behind the card door trim, within the cavity of each door that is equipped with an electric window is a motor and an opening mechanism that is wired via a fuse to the two way switches. From these switches the driver can open and close all the fitted electric windows.

Problems occurring with the window electric system are usually with the failure of the motor but can also be the opening mechanism and a problem with the glass becoming disengaged with the mechanism.

Access to the the motors and the lifting/lowering mechanism requires the removal of the door card trim and disconnection of the switches wiring.

Daewoo trivia

  • Daewoo introduced a lot of features that we now take for granted, such as the concept of free servicing, free AA breakdown, and a free three-year warranty.
  • The Daewoo LeMans isn't just one of the greatest commercial successes that the car company had; it's also the first car they sold that went to global markets rather than just being sold in Asia.
  • There's no avoiding the fact that although they carried on producing cars right into the 2000s, Daewoo had consistent financial issues. That led to the sale of the Daewoo Group to General Motors. GM carried on making Daewoo cars up until 2012.
  • The British public was one of the markets where Daewoo did particularly well. The low prices were clearly appealing, and the new approach to sales was unique enough to stand out. By the end of 1996, Daewoo had managed to secure a 1% share of the UK's new car market.
  • Although Daewoo hasn't been featured in as many films as other makes, they do have a memorable appearance in the comedy Pineapple Express with Seth Rogen. The lemon-yellow Daewoo was used in place of the intended Ford Fiesta, and the scene features one of the main characters cheering, "You just got killed by a Daewoo Lanos!"
