About Doseur Valvess
A Land Rover doseur valve (sometimes known as a doser valve), plays a key part in a vehicle’s hydraulic braking system. Its job is to send brake fluid, which has been converted in to hydraulic pressure to the vehicle’s brakes.
The Land Rover doseur valve is located by a LMH reservoir which holds hydraulic fluid. The doseur valve goes in to operation when the brake pedal is pressed by sending the pressurised hydraulic fluid from the reservoir to the brake lines. The level of pressure is crucial in ensuring that the brakes work. Too little pressure and the brakes will fail.
It’s also key that there is no air in the system. This will result in a delay between the pressing of the brakes and the brakes working, which could be fatal. Any delay in the activation of brakes should be immediately checked by a reputable garage.
Other signs of a Land Rover doseur valve failure could include the vehicle leaking hydraulic fluid. This green coloured liquid may be seen on the ground under the vehicle. You may also see a lit warning light on your dashboard to tell you that there is an issue with your vehicle’s braking system.
Land Rover trivia
- Land Rover was notorious for trying to find ways to avoid paying taxes and extended that to their customers too. They built the Defender 110 so that it could (just about) fit 12 people! Technically, that meant that they could class it as a bus, and owners didn't have to pay standard road tax.
- One of the most unique vehicles ever was the floating SUV designed and built by Land Rover. Unfortunately, the Floating Ninety Defender led many drivers to believe that their own Land Rovers could also float, and many cars were driven into lakes as a result.
- Land Rover made the 101 Forward Vehicle for the UK military. It was originally built to haul howitzer cannons! The vehicle is so high, in fact, that a step had to be built into the front wheel so that the driver could get into the cab.
- In 2012, Land Rover hired Posh Spice as their temporary creative director. Victoria Beckham was the key to the design of the Evoque Special edition. It came with a hand-finished matte paint job, mohair floor mats, and a matching four-piece luggage set.
- Land Rover was the two-decade standout winner of the Camel Trophy, a gruelling off-road challenge that sees vehicles compete in Siberia, the Sahara, Australia, and other hostile terrains.
