About Grab Handles
The Audi grab handle is a useful device which has the primary function of assisting with the ease of entering and exiting the vehicle. This function is particularly beneficial for elderly people or people with mobility difficulties. The grab handle allows some leverage enabling the user to lift themselves out of the seat with ease.
Usually made from a mixture of plastics and strong, woven cloth, grab handles are usually mounted in the roof, located just above the car door and can be found on all of the car doors.
Although primarily functioning to assist when entering or leaving a vehicle, grab handles located in the rear of a car are also used by car owners to hang up items of clothing, such as a smart suit, that would otherwise get creased. The grab handle is also used by passengers to help them to get comfortable when travelling, when shifting position in the seat, for example. Passengers can also grab hold of the Audi grab handle to keep them steady if the car has to stop suddenly, for example.
If the functionality of the grab handle has been compromised in any way, for example, has been broken; snapped; not fixed to the mounting securely; or is coming loose, it will need to be replaced. Purchasing a new Audi grab handle for your vehicle will ensure the ideal fit for the make and model of your car.
Audi trivia
- Not happy with just making one of the first automated cars, Audi even built and raced one in the Pikes Peak Hill race, setting records for speed even without a driver.
- The word Audi is a Latin translation of the word Horch, which incidentally is where we get the word audio from!
- Audi has been responsible for many firsts in car design. One of the most impactful was the introduction of the dual-clutch gearbox, first seen in the Quattro S1 E2. Now, of course, they are commonplace.
- You might think that crash tests in cars have always been a requirement, but it was Audi that first started doing them. Far from the modern methods used today, Audi engineers simply let their cars roll down hills until they hit something. Spectators used to line up to watch the excitement.
- The Audi R8 is made very unusually, and only 20 are rolled out of their factory on any given day. That’s because it's considered an honour to work on this model, and only the top 120 Audi employees are qualified enough.
