The luxury DS brand which is produced by the French automobile manufacturing company, Citroen is expected to release three new DS models over the next few years. This will double the current tally of models, adding to the current DS3, DS4 and DS5 models. It has been recently announced that the Citroen name will be removed from the DS vehicles, and for the DS to become its own outright brand, in order to bring them more upmarket to compete with the likes of BMW and Mercedes. You can read our recent article on this topic by clicking here. The new proposed models are set to be a new 4x4 and 2 new prestige saloon cars. The 4x4 is expected first, and will arrive at the beginning of 2016, which will be based on the recent DS Wild Rubis concept vehicle. The next vehicle to make it into production will be a small saloon which Citroen say will be “radically styled”. The final new DS vehicle will be the flagship Saloon which Citroen hope will compete with the likes of the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5-Series and Audi A6. We look forward to these vehicles with anticipation and to see how the DS brand will progress as its own brand. Exciting times ahead for Citroen and DS. What do you think of the DS range, and do you think bringing in these three new models will help this luxury brand to compete with the likes of BMW, Mercedes and Audi?
