French automobile manufacturing company Citroen have recently confirmed that its DS brand will be going on its own from now on, which means that all future DS models from here on will no longer feature Citroen badging. As the two brands focus on two totally different markets, it was thought that the DS brand would be better going on its own. Citroen are more focused on affordability and practicality where as the DS brand is more focused on distinctive styling, luxury interiors and sophisticated equipment said a Citroen spokesman. The spokesman also said that for the foreseeable future both brands will be sold from the same dealerships but there is a good chance that the DS brand could be sold from their own dealerships at some point in the future. This is already the case in Asia where the DS and Citroen models are sold at separate dealerships. The first DS vehicle in Europe to have only the DS logo on the car will be the Desire DS concept car which was revealed a couple of weeks ago. This vehicle will be officially unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show next month. What do you think of the DS brand?
