About Roof Rails Barss

If your car has not been fitted with a factory installed roof rack you will need to access one of the many roof rack kits on the market. These kits come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit almost every make and model of car and van. They also have various different components to create the roof rack and connect it securely to the roof of the car.

In general terms, a roof rack system consists of a number of towers or feet that are used to anchor the roof rack to the car. A set of Jaguarroof rails or bars run transversely across the vehicle, serving as mountings. These are either connected to the towers or feet using clips or may be ready connected by the kit manufacturer.

JaguarRoof rails and bars are designed to fit most models of vehicle and some are telescopic to ensure that they are suitable for a range of different cars. They are hard wearing and durable, being capable of bearing heavy loads. For added security, most roof rack kits include locks. The roof rack retailer will normally provide easy to follow fitting instructions to ensure that the roof rack and the Jaguarroof rails and bars are safely and securely connected to the car.

Jaguar trivia

  • To show off just how light the F-Pace SUV was, Jaguar built a loop and the SUV not only tackled it but completed the loop on its first go. The feat earned Jaguar a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
  • Before a Jaguar is painted, they are brushed with an ionized emu feather. That's because these feathers are very good at holding an electrostatic charge, and that means they are great at getting rid of any dust that might ruin the finished Jaguar look.
  • PM Margaret Thatcher was determined to keep Jaguar as a British company, and in 1984 she announced that the brand was protected from foreign purchasing. The government retained a 50% share of the company until it became clear that foreign investment was essential as 1990 rolled around.
  • Steve McQueen was a huge fan of the Jaguar XKSS and even found himself with two driving bans because of his passion for driving fast. He was one of the few people to ever drive an XKSS because only 16 were ever made! McQueen did eventually sell his car, but regretted it immediately and paid more to get it back. The car is now owned by US TV host Jay Leno.
  • Talk about testing your car! Jaguars are put through a very rigorous climate test, where they are first tested in -40 degrees for twelve hours. Once that's done, the cars are then sprayed with water while standing in a 0-degree wind tunnel. That's why they cope so well with British weather.
