BMW 323i Overview
The BMW 323i is classed as a compact executive car which was produced by the German automobile manufacturing company BMW. This car is part of the BMW 3-series range and has been in production since 1977, two years after the 3-series was introduced. The 323i is not available in the latest version, the sixth generation; it has been discontinued since 2012. These cars are great to drive, are very well-equipped and a comfortable ride. They have a decent amount of space, are very well built and extremely refined. They are expensive cars to buy but they have good engines. BMW 323i History
The first generation (1975-83) of the 3-series was only available in saloon version only and 3 different engines. The 323i was introduced in 1977 and was the top of the range engine at the time.
The second generation (1982-91) of this car was almost double the price of the previous version, due to improved build quality, rendering it more luxurious.
The third generation (1990-99) gave the 3-series a new look, having a totally new style than the two previous generations. A new 2.5L engine was introduced and marketed as the 323i, meaning the name no longer specifically referred to the engine size.
The fourth generation (1998-2006) again used the 2.5L engine for the 323i and this version was hugely successful on all worldwide markets.
The fifth generation (2005-12) was the last model to use the 323i name. This version was a totally new design with a new mechanical makeup which sold really well on all markets.
