The 2014 Skoda Yeti has now arrived in the UK and we are considering if this is the best crossover SUV available in the UK. The Yeti competes with the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Vauxhall Mokka in the crossover SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) class. The Yeti was first released in 2009 and was the first vehicle of this kind to be released by the Czech automobile manufacturing company Skoda Auto, which is part of the Volkswagen Group. The new 2014 version has just been released in the UK and we have a review for the Yeti Greenline which you can view by clicking here. The crossover SUV class is very competitive and manufacturers are honing in on this ever increasing market, as buyers are showing a real interest in this type of vehicle. The Nissan Qashqai has been leading the way in this class for a while now, but some reckon that the new 2014 Yeti is serious competition for the Qashqai. The Yeti is a very capable off road vehicle with even the front-wheel drive version being able to handle off-road surfaces pretty well. The four wheel drive version is obviously more suited to tougher off road terrain if this will be something you will use the vehicle for. The Yeti has a 180mm ground clearance and some very well designed body kit, which is well suited to off road surfaces. It has some quality safety features which you would come to expect from any vehicle within the Volkswagen Group. It has stability control, 7 airbags and the option of a driver fatigue sensor. There are several engines available and the smallest 1.2L petrol engine begins at a price of £18,110. We think that the new Yeti will push the Qashqai all the way and could even take the number one position for crossover SUV in the UK. What do you think?
