The Jaguar F-Type is a very stylish looking sports car which is capable of competing with the likes of the Porsche 911. That might sound like a big statement to make but this car is a serious contender. It has amazingly stylish yet unique looks and not only that, but it is also very capable in terms of performance. When we are thinking of this car being able to compete with the Porsche 911, we are thinking of the F-Type V8 S version. This version comes with a 5.0L V8 engine and offers a whopping 495bhp. It is capable of 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. This version has a starting price of £79,950 where as the standard F-Type convertible starts at £58,535. The difference in price shows how much more special the V8 S version is. The F-Type was first unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and is the first 2-seater produced by Jaguar in over 50 years. There are three trim levels available: F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S. The first two versions come with differing variants of the 3.0L V6 engine where as the latter model is fitted with the 5.0L V8 as mentioned above. All versions are fitted with the 8-speed automatic gearbox. This is a great looking car which is well worth considering if you have this sort of money to spare and are after a quality sports car. When the engine is idling it purrs along and when you get moving this soon turns into a roar. What do you think of the new Jaguar F-Type and do you think the V8 S version can seriously compete with the likes of the Porsche 911? Share your thoughts in our comments box below.
