Does this sound anything like your experience of the Freelander?

Land Rover Freelander History

The first generation (1997-2006) was released in 1997 as the Rover Group had done some research into the compact SUV market in the late 80's. When BMW took over in 1994, they funded this project and produced the first generation Freelander in 1997. This vehicle became the best selling 4x4 in Europe right up until 2002. The second generation (2006-present) was introduced in 2006 and was marketed as the LR2 in North America but kept the Freelander name for the European market. This vehicle is based on the Ford EUCD platform. The interior design has been greatly improved over the previous version. This is the current version on the market.
