Jaguar XK8 Overview

The Jaguar XK8 is classed as a grand tourer car and was produced by the British automobile manufacturing company Jaguar Cars. This vehicle was in production from 1996-2006. This car was available in both convertible and coupe versions and looks really stylish. The XK8 has a unique look that gives it that distinctive Jaguar look and feel. Now that they are only available as second hand cars, they are actually pretty reasonably priced, making them a good affordable choice for a car of this type. They are well refined and are very luxurious. It is great to drive and gives you that real sports car experience but they do have very high running costs. Does this sound anything like your experience of the XK8?

Jaguar XK8 History

The first generation of the Jaguar XK8 was based on the Jaguar XJS and is derived from this car. The XK range was introduced in 1996. It shares the same platform as the Aston Martin DB7 and originally had the 4.0L Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. In 2003 the 4.0L engine was replaced with the 4.2L AJ34 engine. The second generation was designed on a new platform based on the XJ40 and received the new 6-speed automatic gearbox. These cars are very aerodynamic in design and very high performance sports cars, with a maximum speed of 155mph. Production ceased in 2006 and the XK8 was replaced with the XK.
