About Aircon Relays
The car's air conditioning system basically conditions the air, which means whilst cooling the air in the car down, it also helps to ensure there isn't too much moisture in the car, so it stops the air getting too humid. The car's air conditioning unit also cleans the air in the car by filtering the dust and other particles from the air inside the car.
The Mazda aircon relay carries electric current between the car's battery and various components that make up the car's air conditioning system and it essentially acts as an ON/OFF voltage control switch. The Mazda aircon relay is efficient and clever in that it works on very little power but produces a great many times more power than it uses.
The Mazda aircon relay will be housed in the relay box, usually found underneath the dashboard. The Mazda aircon relay connects to the car's battery, as well as connecting to the specific part that the relay is functioning, for example, the compressor clutch relay will connect to the compressor clutch.
If the car's air conditioning system has stopped working it is advisable to seek professional advice. Get the relays connected to the ac system checked, such as the aircon compressor clutch relay, to establish if it is merely a Mazda aircon relay that is broken and needs replacing or a larger problem with the whole air conditioning system.
Mazda trivia
- The Mazda logo is meant to be an owl, expressing Mazda's goal of expanding its wings for the future.
- Mazda entered the US market in 1987 with its first production facility just outside of Detroit. Car company Ford then joined with Mazda at the facility, and the two car brands have been in a collaborative relationship ever since.
- The 1975 Mazda Roadpacer came with a unique (at the time) anti-hijacking feature. When driving at more than 10mph, the car automatically performed central locking on all of the doors. It also got 9mpg, but it's the central locking that stands out.
- Mazda loves a good slogan, and they've used a lot of them in their long history. Aside from their most famous "Zoom Zoom", they've also used less snappy slogans like, "It just feels right", and Get in. Be moved."
- The first vehicle that Mazda ever produced was a three-wheeled truck called the Mazda-go. Only 66 were built in total for its release in 1931.
