About Hydragas Suspension Pumps
The Jaguar Hydragas suspension pump is an invaluable tool for anyone who uses a Hydragas suspension system in their vehicle. The Hydragas suspension system is used in classic cars and vintage vehicles and works by having a Hydragas unit at each wheel which are joined front and rear with piping. The Hydragas unit consists of a sphere which contains Hydrolastic fluid in the bottom section and nitrogen gas in the upper section of the sphere and the two are separated by a damper valve to keep them apart. This nitrogen gas creates pressure on the Hydrolastic fluid and is compressed during the movement of the vehicle, much like a spring on a conventional suspension.
The portable Jaguar Hydragas suspension pump can be used for roadside repairs of Hydragas and Hydrolastic suspensions in the event that your vehicle loses suspension height by pumping in the relevant amount of Hydrolastic fluid.
The robust Jaguar Hydragas suspension pump can also be used to remove air in the suspension system to ensure the correct trim height for the vehicle. The trim height of a vehicle should be checked every six months or 6000 miles to ensure it’s at the right height.
Jaguar trivia
- Transporting a load of Jaguars isn't easy. When being loaded onto trains, every car is driven by a driver that isn't wearing a seatbelt. Those drivers aren't allowed to wear belts, and they even have to get rid of any metal eyelets on their shoes. This is all to prevent the possibility of scratches, and what's more, the drivers aren't even allowed to touch the outside of the cars!
- To show off just how light the F-Pace SUV was, Jaguar built a loop and the SUV not only tackled it but completed the loop on its first go. The feat earned Jaguar a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
- The first-ever XK120 rolled off the production line and was delivered immediately to Clark Gable, who had preordered it well in advance. The XK120 came with a removable windscreen and could hit a solid 120mph..
- The 2014 Superbowl advert for Jaguar featured Brit actors Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong, with a terrified Tom Hiddlestone hanging out of a helicopter as it flew across London. Not many people know that the driver used for this advert was The Stig (Ben Collins).
- Jaguar was bought out by Ford in 1990, but they didn't really capitalise on the investment. Eventually, Ford sold Jaguar to the current owners, the Indian company Tata Motors.
