About Anti Roll Bar

The Range Rover Evoque Land Rover anti roll bar is a rigid steel bar which functions structurally to prevent the chassis of the car from leaning and rolling too much when taking a turn or rounding a corner.

The Range Rover Evoque Land Rover anti roll bar is positioned below the car body and attaches to the right and left hand wheel suspension with anti roll bar or drop links. Most cars have a front anti-roll bar which links the two front wheels and some cars have an anti roll bar which sits at the back of the car and connects the two rear wheels.

The Range Rover Evoque Land Rover anti roll bar keeps the wheels in alignment when the car turns a corner, reducing the body roll of the whole suspension which improves the overall handling of the vehicle.

The anti roll bar itself doesn't wear but it can break or suffer damage in an accident. Over time the drop links, which link the anti roll bar with the rest of the car's suspension, will wear down, however, which can affect the handling and suspension. If the anti roll bar has been damaged in a collision, or you are fitting an anti roll bar into your car for the first time, it's important to install a part that's compatible with the make and model of your vehicle. Purchasing a Range Rover Evoque Land Rover anti roll bar will ensure you get the ideal part.

Land Rover trivia

  • In the 1950s, you could buy yourself a Land Rover with tank tracks instead of wheels. Known as the Cuthbertson Version, it was intended for use by farmers and was tested by driving across the Scottish Highlands.
  • The Queen loves Land Rovers and is reported to have owned as many as 30 different models in her life. It was in a Land Rover Defender that her majesty terrified the then Crown Prince Abdullah with her wild driving skills.
  • The Range Rover designer hated what he had made. Charles Spencer "Spen" King CBE, was focused solely on designing a large V8 engine, and then just drew a box around it to show where the engine would sit. It annoyed him for the rest of his life, and he insisted that he'd only put 0.1% of development time on the car shape. He also hated that they would be used for anything other than farming, saying, "...to use them in the school run, or even in towns and cities at all, is completely stupid."
  • When the Pope was visiting the UK in 1984, Land Rover designed him a customised Popemobile to use in the country.
  • Inspired by the Jeeps that had been used in WWII, the first Land Rover's steering wheel was in the middle of the dashboard. This was partly to counter the need to create left and right-hand drive models for different countries.
