About Door

ZR MG car doors are used by the driver and passengers, sitting in the front or back seats, to enter and exit the car.
A standard car door usually opens outwards and is normally mounted to the frame of the car with hinges which are fixed to the car with either bolts or pins. ZR MG car doors are fitted with a section of glass, which makes up the car window.

Most manufacturers of modern cars favour aluminium for parts such as car doors, because it is strong, durable and rustproof while being lightweight. Car doors can also be made of steel and strong plastics. The interior of a car door, referred to as the car door card, will usually consist of a strong plastic cover lined with various materials such as leather or vinyl to compliment the rest of the interior design.  In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the car door card houses controls for electric windows and the locking mechanism.

Whether the ZR MG door has been damaged, not working properly, needs replacing due to general wear and tear, or you’re simply renovating your car, it’s important when replacing any door to make sure you purchase a door that is compatible with the make, model, and year of your car.

MG trivia

  • The best selling MG of all time is the MGB. Released in 1962 and in production until 1980, the MGB is still the epitome of the modern British sports car, and was, in fact, the last MG to be built at the world-famous factory in Abingdon.
  • The MG3 is a big seller in the UK, and it’s ideal for those drivers that want to personalise their cars. The slogan for the MG3, and the slogan adopted by MG in the UK, is ‘Fun is Back’. This supermini MG was designed at Longbridge, in the same factory that the Mini was designed.
  • Every year, the Chesterfield MG Group holds what’s called the Goodnight Sweetheart Run. It’s a chance for classic MG owners to have one last drive before the colder weather hits and their cars go into storage for the winter. Held every September, the Goodnight Sweetheart Run is a must-attend event for every MG owner.
  • MG cars go through a rigorous testing process at the R&D facility, where they pass through a safety lab, thermal emissions lab, architecture lab, powertrain lab, and thermal wind tunnel lab before getting down to the real nitty-gritty of the testing process.
  • It might be a Chinese-owned name now, but all of the MG’s in the UK have been designed and engineered in good old Longbridge, just outside of Birmingham.
